چکیده

Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) is an emerging non-invasive technique for direct visualization and evaluation of the biliary and pancreatic duct [l-3]. Signals from the regional gastrointestinal tract may obscure the bile ducts and degrade the diagnostic efficacy of MRCP. A mixture of barium sulfate and gastric antacid has been proved as a low cost, well tolerated, and effective negative gastrointestinal contrast agent for abdominal MRI [4]. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the usefulness of a negative oral contrast agent (mixture of Barium sulfate and Magaldrate) in MRCP.

Analytical determination of the chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) contrast in molecular magnetic resonance imaging

Magnetic resonance based on molecular imaging allows tracing contrast agents thereby facilitating early diagnosis of diseases in a non-invasive fashion that enhances the soft tissue with high spatial resolution. Recently, the exchange of protons between the contrast agent and water, known as the chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) effect, has been measured by applying a suitable pulse ...

Pineapple juice as a negative oral contrast agent in magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography: a preliminary evaluation.

The quality of magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) images is frequently degraded by high signal from the gastrointestinal tract. The aim of this study is to evaluate pineapple juice (PJ) as an oral negative contrast agent in MRCP. Preliminary in vitro evaluation demonstrated that PJ shortened T(2) relaxation time and hence decreased T(2) signal intensity on a standard MRCP sequen...

Effect of Bias in Contrast Agent Concentration Measurement on Estimated Pharmacokinetic Parameters in Brain Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging Studies

Introduction: Pharmacokinetic (PK) modeling of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) is widely applied in tumor diagnosis and treatment evaluation. Precision analysis of the estimated PK parameters is essential when they are used as a measure for therapy evaluation or treatment planning. In this study, the accuracy of PK parameters in brain DCE...
